Can't Believe Our Spanish Adventure Has Begun

Finally arrived at our apartment in Barcelona around 18:00 after starting out from Kassel at 09:30. The journey went quite smoothly but had a bit of a frustrating experience getting the keys to our apartment.  I rented the apartment from Friendly Rentals and they make you come to there office to check-in and get the keys before you can make your way to the apartment.  It all seemed a bit low tech.  Our apartment is located in the heart of Old Barcelona and our taxi had to make his way through some very narrow pedestrian clogged streets to get us within 100ft of our place as we are on a street that is too narrow for cars.  Once we were in our place, we quickly had a shower and headed out for a walk around our immediate neighborhood.  We had dinner reservations at a tapas bar two doors down from our apartment building with a work colleague of Rita's.  We had a wonderful dinner and great wine as our guest ordered everything for us.  Busy day tomorrow as we will be going on a full day tour of Barcelona.

Rita and I inside the Tapas restaurant with the delightful Antonia (Rita's work colleague based in Barcelona) and her wonderful 7 year old son Hugo (wearing the Canucks hat and spinning the M&M's fan Rita presented him earlier in the evening).  Photo taken by Antonia's significant other, Txiki (sounds like cheeky) who was a gracious host.
