We had a cold, windy and rainy day to travel to our next destination on the Camino de Santiago, the medieval town of Leon. We arrived in the early afternoon and checked into the amazing Parador Hotel de San Marcos, a lovely 16th century building that was originally the military headquarters of the Order of St. James.

Looking at the wonderful 16th century staircase from the lobby of the hotel with museum quality art on its walls.
This was our amazing room, which is actually a suite. It was worth every penny of the 75 Euro upgrade to feel like a VIP inside as it was miserable outside.
